Sorry, I put that comment in twice because it didn't post right away the first time and I thought the website had prevented me from posting because of the word "God"!

And yes, Nicole, of course it could be worries. Praying before bed can help - it helps your realize you're not in charge of the world and maybe not everything needs to be fixed by you. Not to mention that a higher power could hear you and change things in your heart, maybe other people's hearts, and even circumstances. Writing things down before sleep may help, too. A session with a diary can help put things in perspective and even stimulate dreams that bring solutions or understanding.

And yes, Nicole, of course it could be worry. Maybe write some things down at night before going to sleep. Sometimes a session with a diary is the best remedy - it helps you put everything into perspective, and then sometimes you will dream about it and find solutions. Praying is good, helps you realize you are not in charge of the whole world and maybe some things don't need to be fixed by you. Not to mention that God hears you and makes changes - in your heart, in other people's hearts, maybe even circumstances.

They say not to exercise at night - but if I haven't exercised during the day, exercise right before bed and/or a shower or bath helps me a lot, and so does niacin. The trick with niacin is to find a dose that makes you flush just enough to feel warm and buzzy but not so much that you feel super hot and itchy and then too cold to sleep! For me that's about a hundred milligrams, but for others it could be much less or much more. Calcium and magnesium help, too (2:1 ratio), especially when you feel really tense.

Make sure your bedding is right for You. Inappropriate bedding will in deed Hinder your sleeping and not help it. Make sure you have invested in all 7 layers to the best of your ability. Don't just buy it without a consultation - Find an expert and we can ask the right questions to get you the best you can afford. Make sure that whatever you purchase can be returned after it is washed or used if it is not appropriate for you. For the smallest investmen, a good mattress pad and pillow is a great place to start. If you have joint pains, consider a feather bed. Make sure your sheets are the thread count that works for you - all sheets are NOT created equal and thread count is not the be all to end all. Every thread count feels different.

If you just focus on your breathing, and only your breathing in a dark, cool room, preferably in a comfortable, sleep conducive position you should be able to lull your-self into a relaxed, almost partially asleep state. This may take 5 minutes or 2 hours; it is purely dependant on the person and their reason for inability to sleep. Also a nice warm cup of tea, I use Soleil Vert - Breakfast tea mix, which while having a touch of citrus is suprisingly relaxing blend, about 15 minutes before deep breathing and I sleep like a rock.

Hope this helps,

Getting to sleep can be easy to some, but the hardest thing of the day for others. The reason is the person getting good sleep doesnt think about it. The person not getting sleep worrys about it through the night. JUST FIND A WAY TO STOP THINKING ABOUT SLEEPING.
