Vaginal Birth After C-Section? 4 Factors to Consider

I've been doing a lot of research as to what a c-section entails versus a vaginal delivery. Quite frankly I'm not too sold on either one.

Here's why: When I was 19 I was told I had an ovarian cyst, it was just a "small" one but I needed a laparoscopy procedure to pop and remove it. It was not supposed to be a big deal and recovery time was less than a month since I was set to ship out to boot camp in a little under 2 months. My mom and I went to the hospital got everything set and I was ready for surgery. My doctor came in with pictures from the ultrasound and refused to allow my mom or I to see them she said it was all going to be fine. When I woke up from surgery 4 hours later my world and life was changed forever. After starting the lap the doctor discovered that the cyst was not in fact liquid filled as they generally are but instead was iber filled, it had also completely encompassed my right ovary and fallopian tube and cut off all circulation so it also had to be removed. The cyst was approximately 6"x6"x3.6" and was attatched to my uterus and bladder. My doctor's incision was not at bikini line as is normal for. C-section scars rather it sit s half way betwee my pubic bone and belly button. I have had severe pain throughout the years since this surgery and can feel the space between the muscles with my fingers. Now that I am pregnant my new doctor doesn't seem to think that I'll have any problems with a vaginal delivery. I'm concerned that even 7 years after my previous surgery I still can't fully used my stomache muscle without severe pain, how am I going to be able to deliver a baby.

I am currently pregnant and my partner and I are planing a regular birth after 2 c-sections. My last c-section was 7 years ago so my worries aren't that my cut will rupture, my worries are that my baby may not position properly due to my first baby wasn't. i've finally found a doctor that will atleast allow me to try, I also have faith in god that this birth will go as planned....

I had a C section with my son two years ago. I was told they had to induced me when i didn't want to be and guilt tripped me the entire time. The day I went in for my scheduled induction it all started at 8am.

The nurse kept pushing the button up to give me more pitocin and then coming back and pushing the button to give me less. She did this every half hour or so. I was in labor for ten hours and I only dilated to 5cm. I personally believe it was from the nurse messing with the pitocin. My water hadn't even broken! They had to pop it and it was a horrible sensation. Then they took me off the pitocin and gave me an epidural because I had been in pain for eight hours. Then they told me two hours later, "Oh, we have to do a c section. Sign this."

I was very unhappy with the experience. Thankfully, he was fine. I got an infection and had a high fever and was so pumped full of drugs I couldnt breast feed my son. By the time the drugs were out of my system my milk had dried up. I felt just awful for the next four months. I was in so much pain I slept in a chair for the whole first month and still needed help getting up from a bed three months after.

Now Im 8 wks pregnant with my second child and im terrified of another C section. Unfortunately, my insurance only covers one delivery doctor and its the same guy from my first pregnancy!

I had an emergency c-secton almost six years ago with my son when he decided to turn breech. Now i Am expecting again and i Am just trying to make sure i take the safest route. My doctor told me that cesarean is what i will have to do this time so i am thinking because my babies were all well over 8lbs closer to 9lbs. This information really helped me decide on what i should do... Thanks S.Proctor

Hello! I am newly pregnant and considering a VBAC. I was told by two doctors that my cervix wasn't doing what it supposed to. I have had two c-sections and a tummy tuck. I was wondering if I would still be a good candiidate for a VBAC?

i have concerns with having vbac with my second child. My 1st child was feet first breech, so i didnt have much choice with the first & that was fine. But after my csection,i went through 4 months of pain & bleeding. I had so many complications, includin my uterus not going back into place after birth & extreme bleeding. I also have had problems with weight loss & gain after birth & anytime i would gain any weight i can feel the scar tissue rippin at my csection scar..the doctor has told me there is nothing that can be done... which im skeptical about i feel there has to be something that can be done, but does anyone has an opinoin on doing vbac with having the complications i have had.. i just want some advice from other mothers, maybe even mothers that might have some of the same complications.?

I was a week over due and the hospital induced me because I had low amniotic fluid. They did the potsin and put a balloon in me for me to dilate to 4 cm. The doctors popped my water and for the next five hours I dilated to 9 CM... 9 CM and the doctors tried to keep giving me the potsin but my daughters heart rate was going up down. But it was fine when they stopped trying to give me the drug. They came and told me I need an emergency c section had me sign papers and told me I would have a c section at 6 p.m. I felt rushed and the whole time going to get the c section the doctors were talking about driving. wtf. I didn't need a c section. I feel like I missed out on a VBAC. If I only knew what I know now I would have given them a piece of my mind....

VBAC is possible, just Believe in God the originator of pregnancy, is able to see any woman who believes in him and her abilities. you can deliver normally, just believe
