i have concerns with having vbac with my second child. My 1st child was feet first breech, so i didnt have much choice with the first & that was fine. But after my csection,i went through 4 months of pain & bleeding. I had so many complications, includin my uterus not going back into place after birth & extreme bleeding. I also have had problems with weight loss & gain after birth & anytime i would gain any weight i can feel the scar tissue rippin at my csection scar..the doctor has told me there is nothing that can be done... which im skeptical about i feel there has to be something that can be done, but does anyone has an opinoin on doing vbac with having the complications i have had.. i just want some advice from other mothers, maybe even mothers that might have some of the same complications.?

I was a week over due and the hospital induced me because I had low amniotic fluid. They did the potsin and put a balloon in me for me to dilate to 4 cm. The doctors popped my water and for the next five hours I dilated to 9 CM... 9 CM and the doctors tried to keep giving me the potsin but my daughters heart rate was going up down. But it was fine when they stopped trying to give me the drug. They came and told me I need an emergency c section had me sign papers and told me I would have a c section at 6 p.m. I felt rushed and the whole time going to get the c section the doctors were talking about driving. wtf. I didn't need a c section. I feel like I missed out on a VBAC. If I only knew what I know now I would have given them a piece of my mind....

VBAC is possible, just Believe in God the originator of pregnancy, is able to see any woman who believes in him and her abilities. you can deliver normally, just believe

The overall risk to mother and baby having a VBAC in the average setting in the US is of the similar order (a little less) to the risk of death of a US service person during a year spent in Afghanistan based on 2009 figures. This is not meant to be scary, just to put some flesh on the bones of numbers. Most service men and women come home. The pain happens when they don't. This is not a public football it's a private issue.

why dont the doctors allow us to make decisions for ourselves.i went through a c'section for the first one cos the baby was big, thats what they told me,i had a c'section again for the second one without any apparent reason all becos i had c'section for the first one so the second one too i have to go through that.plse doctors give us the opportunity to try for normal delivery.i want my third baby to be a normal delivery when i get pregnant.c section is awful, unbearable pain i can think off and dont want to go through that again for my next baby.

I also had a c-section then VBAC 2 years later. Almost all the odds stated above were against me. For my VBAC was 39 years old, non-white, first baby was 9lb 8 oz, one week late on first preganancy and was not progressing at all. However, I was in pretty good physical shape and was very committed to exercising and keeping fit thoughout both my pregnancies. For my first, because my baby was measuring big, my OB decided to induce, 36 hours later I ended in c-section, but otherwise a very healthy baby. I also didn't even consider that I would end in c-section.
Second pregnancy my OB was pushing for c-section. I wanted to give VBAC a try, she agreed. We discussed and set limits to when a c-section would be necessary. After 2 hours of pushing I delivered a 8lb 14 oz baby boy vaginally. All went well, however, because I pushed so long, I bruised my tail bone. My actual recovery from VBAC was not much easier than from c-section, both had different issues.
Though I must say, despite understanding my OB's reasoning, I was irritated that she was pushing for a second c-section. I would have liked it better if she was more in tuned to my desires. As stated above, one has to take personal responsiblity to be informed. If I would have been better informed, I'm convinced that I would not have ended in c-section the first time.

All of these matters should be discussed in the 10 months usually availalbe if you even wait that long to gather your thoughts on what YOU want to experience. Sure there are drs who care more about their personal needs than the patient's, but I have got to beleive that most of them put the patient first when they make decisions for them or with their cooperation. A huge percentage of women used to die in childbirth - an awful and unjust reality to contribute to humanity! My thoughts trend to charging for that process rather than blaming a dr who has to plan and schedule by necessity.
My personal experience is that I wanted to have birth at home. Being an athlete, I was sure I could easily handle it. Thank goodness when I went 2 weeks late, the midwife turned me over to another for a vacation (see even they have needs). I wound up having a C-section (at almost 42) at a hospital quite a distance away in expert care and can not even find the scar thanks to the doctor friend of the midwife whose own wife is an RN/midwife. The whole procedure took less than 20 minutes and we went home in 2 days. I was back running in a couple weeks, slowly at first then full on by a month.
You see I had expressed my concern for my abdominals so they considered that. Of course everyone should get that care, but it never hurts to ask for what you want to make sure it is in other's mindsets.
All kinds of things happen and it is best to leave to experts their outcome!
Find one you LOVE and TRUST and if they wind up unavailable, they will place you with a PERFECT alternative.
