Spouse's Reaction May Affect Pain Management

This has been a chronic problem, written about at least 12 yrs ago, when chronic pain in fibromyalgia was been addressed, and now is known that alienation of affection is a causative of worstening pain in any partnership - the 'well' partner making the 'ill' partner a 'victim' to his/her non ability to empathose nor work with partner and they should both be seeing CBTherapist/NLP Practitioner for their own sakes to help situation. Research shows that most couples and the ill person's families, unless there is familial/hereditary person who is not toally wrapped up with their pain and sim problems, have no support within their immediate family circle and thus must seek other areas to attain self-validity, and NOT REMAIN THE VICTIM, but become the VICTOR over all pain-related illnesses (visable or not), and the surrounding problems. It certainly can be done, as this writer has seen after taking back her dignity for herself, after 20 yrs of pain, being 18 yrs in remission of same, gaining the respect again (poss not the love) of the partner and the family and friends. All that is needed is the courage and determination to do anything and everything it takes to remember that SELF MATTERS before anyone else. No doubt - when I was diagnosed with fibro, sjogrens, etc. my husband made fun of me as I cried in pain - he died 3 yrs. ago and I will never get married again - I will stay alone with my pain, which has decreased over the 3 yrs.!!!

It takes a team effort to deal with pain. Without my wife's daily support, I would not be able to live a normal life. Pain changes everything. Those who adapt survive and thrive.
