This result is surprising? Show me one drug that doesn't have long term effects when consumed constantly.
Now, of all those, show me those that reverse those effects within a month of stopping use.
"The researchers re-scanned 14 of the smokers after one month of abstinence and found a notable increase in receptor activity in areas that were deficient at the beginning of the study. These findings, the investigators concluded, suggest the adverse effects of chronic marijuana use are reversible."
The adverse effects of chronic use are not "reversible", they're temporary.

Here we go again. Another cannabis prohibition hit piece that just so happens to come out now. Every time a major study & group of world leaders come out against continuing the failed war on drugs we get more prohibition propaganda. Well, I for one am tired of this game of discrediting the forces of reason with scare tactics propaganda like this news article. Cannabis prohibition itself is far more destructive to society than cannabis use is. Cannabis is a non-lethal plant. But, cannabis prohibition is responsible for 10's of thousands of drug war murder worldwide every year. End the war on cannabis users, now.
