Health Tip: The Importance of Good Posture

I just come across an incredible product called IntelliSkin. It is like an Under Armour compression shirt but with brains and on steroids!

It is designed to constantly cue the nerve endings in your skin to send a message to your brain that causes your brain to tell your muscles to align and support your spine in perfect posture!

I like it because it actually makes your muscles re train and work to support you... and I like it because it is functional! I can wear it whether I am working at my computer or training at the gym.

Probably most important to me is the fact that most or all posture supports I have tried do all the work for you, which might make you weaker and more dependent on the brace instead of your own body.

They say proprioception and functional training/rehab is the new direction in sports medicine and the website shows lots of examples ofthis and which star athletes are wearing them and why! Check it out at drbrowndesigns.com

There's also a great new posture improvement device available to help people work on their posture during everyday activities. It's called the iPosture. The device is designed to vibrate to alert users when they slouch, so as to ingrain good posture behavior. About an inch in diameter, the device is barely noticeable and can be clipped to clothing (like a bra strap) or adhered to the skin.

It's available at www.iPosture.com.
