I found the quiz biased! There is a real difference between the body's dependence and addiction. So until you get THAT right I have no intention of completing that quiz! This is a VERY important problem within pain management and your writer should get educated!

You have helped to bring to light a tpoic that many of us who have chronic pain suffer with every day. I am a diabetic with neuropathy, I am also a nurse. My PCP does not effectivly treat my constant pain and pretty much brushes it off. When I have to ask for my pain med to be renewed he askes do you still need it? (like he is suprised)I have tried all the anti-depressants, anti seizure and any other therapy that may help and it has not yet. Well the pain won't ever get better and I have to work to spport my child. I also love to play basketball and fish and hunt. Having medication to take that makes these activities possible makes all the difference in the world to me. I don't want my 10 year old to see me hurt or feel that I can't do the things we love to do because of pain. I am seeking treatment from a pain managment Dr. who I hope will take me seriously and believe what I say. As nurses and Drs. we are taught that pain is what the patient says it is! Many times I feel that medical professionals don't follow this rule anymore. So thank you so much for your unbiased report and keep up the wonderful work.

Thanks so much for bringing this subject to the attention of the public. It is unfortunate that the attitudes toward narcotics have become tangled up with needed legitimate uses of these drugs for treatment of pain. Many suffer needlessly because of myths attached to these medications. For example: patients using narcotic pain medications do not seek drugs beyond what is needed to ameliorate their pain. Nor do they get a "high" from these drugs. It is not unreasonable to want to function as normally as possible.

Thanks for encouraging people to learn more about their chronic pain. Understanding the cause of your chronic pain is the first step towards finding a solution.
There is a new book that reports on a previously unknown source of chronic muscle and joint pain and the treatment developed to permanently eliminate it: http://www.foreverfreefromchronicpain.com. This book could help those who are unclear about why they are suffering from chronic musculoskeletal pain and why their current treatments are not working.
For those interested, here is a questionnaire to determine whether or not this treatment that permanently eliminates chronic muscle and joint pain would be a likely solution for you:
