The part about optimism and pessimism is partially wrong... at times, optimism can be bad and pessimism can be good. For example, an overly optimistic person might not use a seatbelt in the car, or take medication the right way, because "everything will be fine," but a strategic pessimist might plan ahead, take the meds properly, wear the seatbelt, etc., because of the fear that something will go wrong.
