But how does a study of 339 patients mean that a disease affects 4 percent of the population?

I had a congenital coarctation of the aorta surgically corrected in 1948 (yes, you read it right!) . Would this put me at risk for any of the abover risks? I do have hypertension and am on mediation - mostly controlled.
