In my opinion, this brain damage leads to Alzheimer's disease (AD). In other words, OSA causes AD. Everyone has OSA until proven otherwise. Now that inexpensive home sleep tests are available, there is no excuse for not knowing your sleep status. Treatment with a positive airway pressure (PAP) machine can prevent AD, not to mention the other killer diseases that OSA is known to cause.
