Anemia Drugs May Cause Deadly Blood Clots

I had chemo and developed a clot in my right subclavian and was not on Procrit as it didn't exist at the time. I had a Hickman catheter on the side where the clot developed. I hope the study took into account other factors besides the drug. I have no basis for this, but knowing something about coagulation and its regulation, I have always thought that the chemotherapy itself might have comprised my body's ability to produce the factors to keep clots from forming. I was at the end of my chemotherapy treatments when this happened and had had three extra treatments as my protocol was changed after a few months.

Diagnosed in 2003 with Throat and then Kidney cancer, I started a series of radiation treatments, had the right kidney removed then chemo. Carbo platen and cist platen were used for 6 weeks. I started Procrit but don’t remember the frequency. Six years out I appear to be cancer free but suffer from dizzy spells sitting or standing. This has been going on for a year. I take blood pressure meds (180/90) to complicate things and have been losing weight to get off the BP meds. I’m 6” and weigh 214 and a fit 61 year old. What cancers can procrit cause and can the dizzy spells be related?
