My husband died of a massive stroke to the brain stem a yr. and a half ago. Unfortunatly we were an hour away from the hospital when his symptoms started I believe he had a small stroke and then another small stroke just as we were getting to the ER. I imediately told staff that my husband was having strokes and they admitted him right away.He had all the symptoms. Numbness on left side, Couldnt talk for a while, couldnt walk, and a severe headache. I conveyed all these symptoms to the Dr. They did a catscan but it reveled nothing. He had had a mini stroke 6 yrs prior and also had a non functioning kidney. He was taking lipitor, benecare. and baby asparin. Two hrs. and 30 minutes later he had the massive stroke. i had him taken off life support two days later and he passed away. The ER physician thought maybe he was just having partial seizures. Does this sound reasonable to you or should the DR. have immediately given him clot busting drugs? Maybe he be alive today.
