I remmber when i was a kid i use to hear in health that you only need about 15-30 mins of sun exposure a day to get the level's of vitamin D you needed for the next 24 hours. that is usually what you would get by being a normal active kid.

Drink a glass of milk and go play outside for 30mins thats all you need. you dont need to bake in the sun until you get a golden brown or sun baked red.

When you lack Vitamin D you can get rickets. When O.J. Simpson was a kid,he had rickets and had to wear leg braces. Wonder how much Vit D he's getting in jail? Ethic Soup blog has a good post about this at:

This is so stupid. Milk is a good source of Vitamin D BECAUSE IT IS FORTIFIED (i.e., SUPPLEMENTED) with it! The medical-industrial complex will do anything to denigrate supplements because it threatens their bottom line. People actually taking responsibility for their own health scares them. And telling kids to spend more time in the sun is just going to increase their risk of melanoma ($$$) later in life!

Or instead of drinking more milk, they get just get off their butts and go outside for awhile! Vitamin D *and* exercise at the same time!

Children and adults alike NEED to supplement vitamin D3, especially from Sept- April above the latitude of south Georgia. Diet and "eating right" will in no way fulfill vitamin D3 requirements of the human body. After all there is only so much milk that can be consumed and salmon or sardines one can eat. The current RDA is a beyond inept, negligent joke. And 50 ng/ml serum levels of activated D3 is healthy- not 30 ng/ml.

It is imperative that everyone research vitamin D3 and its paramount importance to human health. It is an understatement to say it is the most imortant and misunderstood "supplement" in history, other than perhaps oxygen.

And yeah, it's that important!!! See the following web sites for the facts. Be certain you are sitting down when you read the data so as not to collapse in injury when you realize what it is all about.
