What is the outcome for Thomas Clegg. Is he improved? I also have congestive heart failure at age 58. Is it working ? Iam very interested in these results.

We have barely scratched the surface regarding this science. The US should be pouring money into stem cell research, especially considering our current health care situation. Once again I'll mention that my quadriplegic grandmother passed away while the Bush administration and the religious right were actively demonizing and chasing such research out of the country. Too late for her, but I care about others as well.

This article is so blatantly skewed and/or uninformed, there's no wonder why USNews's circulation is tanking. Change your name to USSkewNews.

In 2001 members of the Texas Heart Institute were working with colleagues in Brazil and PUBLISHED the excellent results they obtained with patients who were basically told their hearts needed to be replaced. Way back then they injected the patients' own stem cells from bone marrow directly into their hearts.

This stuff is such old news, yet we keep hearing about "promising" work on mice, "new" beginning trials with people, etc. Why isn't the comparatively noninvasive procedure mainstream by now? A lot of cariologists will lose BIG incomes.
