I was in Iraq with US Army and somehow got cardiomyopathy. I have a EF of 35% and CHF symptoms. I have been in the Warrior Transition Unit with army since April 2008 when this occured. I was medivac'd out of Iraq back to US. I had a Bi-V ICD implanted in OCT 2008 which has helped me feel better; but has not improved my EF or CHF. This "Takotsubo cardiomyopathy" is very interesting because I was just divorced before I left for Iraq and I was under so much pressure and I was very depressed. Noone can figure out how I got this heart condition and I am really wanting to find out what happened. Originally they thought that Anthrax Vaccine shots caused it; but the army stopped that and covered their a$$ quickly. My cardiologist works with Washington University of St. Louis and I feel has done best he can with me. Do you think that maybe I could have this Takotsubo cardiomyopathy? Thanks, Major Murphy

have family member who has this - has had more than 3 episodes in 10 years. local cardiologists in er wanted to angioplast and stint - had investigatory test done in experimental study done week before - knew there was 95% chance of no blockage. refused - still have heart issue - now afraid to go to Er for anything. want to find out more about this to make sure if er is needed right tx would be given

risk of invasive and wrong tx is less than risk of home remdies

( that's scary ! )

thank you
