Actually, one in every three Americans die of Heart Disease. What we eat is killing us. What to do? Simple. Stop eating anything from an animal. Why? Because animal based foods contain cholesterol, which over time coats the inside of every vein and artery in your body, which eventually causes high blood pressure, erectile dysfunction, high cholesterol, stroke, arteriosclerosis, Heart Disease...and perhaps Alzeimer's Disease too. Cancers are often caused by the foods we in the western cultural tradition eat, also.
Plant based foods contain zero cholesterol. When the woman with the five blocked arteries realizes WHY her arteries were blocked she will realize they were blocked due to her ingestion of cholesterol which is in animal based foods. When these deposits of cholesterol line the arteries it is known as placque. If you don't eat cholesterol it is going to be very tough to have blocked arteries! Stop poo pooing vegans and start opening your minds...and your ARTERIES!

This article is a fluff piece. As Beth of PA remarked, it's not written carefully. And it appears to be a promo for a certain organization.

"Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of American women. One out of every four women will die of it each year..."
This statement implies that 25% of ALL American women are dying of heart disease each year. Twenty-five percent of American women don't die in any given year! I think you mean to say that one out of four of all deaths in women are due to heart disease.

In describing what happened to your first patient you state the 5 arteries in her heart had torn. This is not medically possible as she would be dead in an instant. I think it should read that her 5 arteries were blocked with plaque and thus the reason for the bypass surgery. If you are trying to imply that she had intimal tears(lining of the vessel lesions secondary to plaque rupture), you should be a little more specific as the article is misleading and a little sensational as it reads. I understand that you are trying to get a message across regarding the risk of this disease in females, but accuracy in reportage is the hallmark of good medical writing.
