I just had a ct heart scan. The score was high 453 I believe. My cholesteral was 109 triclycerides were 96 ldl was 55 risk factor was 3.2 hdl was 38. My cpr was 1.0. I took the the ct san 7 months ago and just found out what the score was. I do not smoke, or drink, and do exercise daily for 15-30 minutes.

But am a little concerned about the ct numbers. I have been on zocar 20 mg for several months now.

Deborah, your article is very informative but some of your imbedded links are worthless. They take you to a general page that requires more searching to find out "How to calculate BMI". Should be sent directly to appropriate page.

I agree with these statements and assesments, I recently had severe chest pains

in November, and went to emergency room, had follow-up procedure with doctors

nothing conclusive found. Starting to notice the pains are returning

really bothers me when i lay on the left side along with the shortness

of breath and sweats, getting to the doctor this Monday

A MUST, CANT Just Say Its Nothing to Worry About!!!!

Make sure, Only have ONE HEART!!! Valorie B.

Thanks 4 the Valuable information

I would like a CT heart scan--where can I get one in the Richmond, Virginia area? I am 73 year old female and both my parents died of heart attacks---I am overweight and need this done..

My doctor has me on Zocor 40 because I had slightly elevated cholesterol and am diabetic with blood sugar always below 150. I scored 0 on the CT Heart Scan. She said because I am diabetic I should keep my cholesterol below 200. My good cholestrol is always high. I don't like taking a statin.

I have read that Vitamin K2 (an "active" different than K), derived from a particular soy bean in Japan, helps to remove calcium from and prevent its formation in arteries.
