I learned that vitamin D in supplement form is from Sheeps' wool and I have found one that is from mushrooms...all organic at www.touchstoneessentials.com

Everything sounds good until the end. You most certainly CAN get a sunburn through a car window, and should wear sunscreen on long road trips just like any other time you'll be exposed to the sun.

Obviously EXPOSURE to sun light with clothes on is of almost no help in geting Vitamin D-- because it needs a reaction to occur at the skin and one would not like to keep facing the sun in daytime.

Does having Type II diabetes increase the need for prolonged in-the-sun time for the activation of vitaminD production?

Will I get sun damage, even though I wear sunscreen, from UVA rays coming through the windshield?

That is quite false! I have burnt many many times through a car window with and without sun screen. I always have one arm on my body that is more burnt and the freckles darker because of the car!

I recently read from a book I have that was published in 1999 that after a suntan is established, vitamin D production through the skin stops. Is this true?

I would like to know when it would be best in middle eastern countries to get maximum dose of Uv-B ? And also what about the seasonal variation?

I bet a lot of problems, sleep "disorders" in particular, can be traced to not enough sunlightexaccerbated by too much late night screen time.
