I am sure this is already in the comments somewhere, but here are the facts of both studies. A the term "Heavy Smoker" Refers to someone who smokes at least 10 Joints a day. The Second study about heart rate had this conclusion in its findings:

"Smoking marijuana is a rare trigger of acute myocardial infarction. Understanding the mechanism through which marijuana causes infarction may provide insight into the triggering of myocardial infarction by this and other, more common stressors."

How can these "studies" be accurate when it is illegal to do research on cannabis in the U.S. ?

okay well my husband is a chronic marijuana smoker & he had a second heart attack,3 clogged arteries & his stints were filled with plaque. He uses the marijuana for his back pain. I keep reading about how marijuana thickens the blood and causes the triclycerites to stay on the fat cells, which soposedly causes heart stress.

This message is for only those with only Heart Disease.

However Marijuana is indeed my favorite pain killer.

Wow, how convinient this article comes out just before the elections concerning weed in california, and just after the big law change that just happened their. Did anyone notice that the recent law change was not covered by any of the major internet media outlets (If im wrong please post a link).

This website is controlled by a CFR member, and quite simply, anything that they touch you CANNOT believe. They want to enslave the planet. They are liars and frauds and we support them by reading their news, drinking their coke etc. Follow the money

Marijuana could be linked to these things. True enough. But anyone who uses marijuana knows you catch a bad case of the munchies. Normal people don't get the munchies and grab carrots and dip or a fruit, they go straight for the twinkies, tacos, and soda. Let's think about it. Can this be the cause for the poor heart? Personally, I believe the hype is hemp will stop a lot of other producers. Hemp can be used for paper, so guess who is out of a job? That's right the lumber industry. I could go on forever but it will be pointless. As long as people feel it is ok to get drunk and run over people kids and pop pills that don't belong to them it is going to be a controversy. Really come on, obesity is a big problem in the US. We are some of the fattest people in the world. Are they raiding the shelves and getting rid of all junk food? No. Because it is a simple pleasure just like smoking and drinking.

Cerebro-vascular system, is legit, it is referring to the bloodvessels and blood flow within the brain...cardio-vascular, refers to the the blood vessels and blood flow within the system for the heart..

marijuana does affect the blood-brain barrier and it wasn't first called dope for any other reason than it can make a person seem dopey...dumb..

pb of IL 12:35PM July 22, 2010

"Cereborovascular system" Is not even a legitimate term from the searching I have done. I mean, I'm no expert and have done no hands on research, but when you look around for the data used in what is supposed to be a legitimate news site and don't find it, red flags start to raise. People seem to be in denial of the fact that Marijuana is not only one of the most useful plants on this planet, but it's recreational use is actually one of the safest.

Wake up, grow up, and let the research speak for its self. To those reading these tiny bits of wisdom disguised as comments, go look at the data yourself, stop letting news sources tell you this trash.
