My name is Cheri Kerr, I was told my 7 month old son, Alexander Pohutski, may have LCA. We had a ERG and a MRI both came back normal. I was told this did not rule out LCA. Alex has nystagmus, and the ophthalmologist said he is only seeing approximately up to 2 ft away. I was told we may not know if he has the disease for another year. Is there a test to find out for sure if he has this or not? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My 16 year old son has been diagnosed with Knobloch and now possibly Stargardt's. His retinas are unfortunately going through atrophy. Any hope to stop the atrophy or grow a new retina? He has already had dual cataract surgery and has +6 IOL's. He also had dual vitrecotmies. Left retina tore slightly during the procedure. Right retina very weak and repaired. His vision at best is maybe 20/400 in the right eye and not determined in the left as it is worse than 20/500. He has been accepted in to a clinical trial at NIH in Bethesda, MD beginning in August, 2011.

My son who is eleven has just been diagnosed with Cone Dystrophy a disease we had never heard of until now. He is been treated at Necker Hospital for children in Paris where his doctors have been very negative about any treatment in the near future. It is heart breaking to see my son losing his sight. Could your research eventually help him? Thank you for all help.
