Try Hypnosis and Counseling for IBS and Crohn's

As a fellow IBS patient, I can appreciate your comments. Nine years ago, I wrote just as you did. Anyone trying to promote anything for IBS was just out for the sale, and not to help people. When I first learned about the IBS Audio Program, I thought the same. But over 10 years of internet presence has shown mostly positive feedback, and real people getting real help.

A simple google search will assure you that there is hope for patients diagnosed with IBS in the form of the IBS Audio Program.

Since this article shows that there is hope with this method, many may not be aware of where to get it. A simple search for clinical trials showing this method is available to anyone; the healthy audio website shows the list of clinical trials, feedback from several years of users, and provides therapy for very little cost with support included. It is important that people who are hurting and suffering as I did, get the information, research it properly, and make their own decisions.

As a result of being helped myself, I do now help (in the US) Michael Mahoney (who is in the UK) to shareinformation about the program since funds are put into helping people and not advertising like big companies do. No funds were received for research and development of the program at all.

I am indeed a real patient diagnosed with IBS, and I speak with many IBS patients who have been so kind to me and thankful that they found something that helped them after years of suffering.

You (or any readers in the US) can call me yourself and speak directly to me because we offer support and encouragement to those who suffer at no charge - whether the program is purchased or not. Can't think of many doctors who do that.

You have your opinion and you you are welcome to it. However, Michael and his associates continue to help people and turn lives around through these proven clinical hypnotherapy sessions. You can read my story on many IBS support sites where I first came as a fellow sufferer. The reason for posting here is to help others; though I suppose you could take it as advertising, we dont make profits on people because it takes a lot to provide the programs.

The vast majority of people we speak with after they have completed the IBS Audio Program say that they wish they would have learned about the program sooner - before going through years of other treatments that were not helpful.

So if I post here, is it advertising or providing information - if I did not post, people who are suffering who want to research the validity of this program would not have that option to do so. Again, please do the research and decide - ask your doctor. There are no side effects and so many have been helped.

Emily of Az is correct; Crohn's disease and IBS are very different diseases.Perhaps you've confused it with IBD: Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. I've had Crohn's disease for thirty four years and have been given the last rites three times. I'm doing well now, but will be starting a course of a new medication tomorrow, a medication too dangerous to be given to anyone with IBS. Crohn's is a multifocal disease; my joints, eyes, and skin have been affected. There have been three genes identified so far in Crohn's disease. Neither psychotherapy or hypnotherapy have made any difference in the course of my illness.

I have had Crohns disease for 16 years. I am very concerned about all of the information out there that compares Crohns disease (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) to Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I do not doubt that both ailments have similar symptoms, however, IBS is not even close to the severity of Crohns disease or other IBD illnesses. Of the many doctors I have seen, most recently at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, none have had a single IBS patient who needed surgery nor have any persons died of IBS. Many people I've known throughout the years who have IBS and have known about me having Crohns have almost consistantly said, "I know what you're going through, I have IBS". I have had 16 major surgeries and have been in ICU countless times. I have tried every medical and homeopathic treatment available including changing my diet drastically. I've been gluten-free, vegan, processed-food free, and every other treatment you can think of to treat my disease. One of the medications for the Crohns actually gave me Lupus. Of course the odds of this for the medication were one in 8 million. I am currently on a fairly normal diet, although, a very healthy diet compared to most.

I know I sound like a martyr and after reading what I wrote I wouldn't blame your judgment. But any doctor, (any M.D. that is, not someone who puts "Dr." in front of their first name and has certificates of every sort but not an actual medical license), will assure you that the two have some similiar symptoms, although Crohns has many more symptoms and with greater severity than even your worst IBS patient.

Finally, I appreciate you reading my rant, and because of your patience I will tell you what has worked for me. Yoga. I don't mean "Wii Fit" yoga, or a DVD, but going to an accredited Yoga center and taking classes at least 5 days a week. My doctor told me this works for both IBS and IBD patients because it strengthens and stretches your core muscles and the stronger the muscles, the easier your body can deal with the muscle spasms from the pain. Also, it is an amazing stress reliever and we all know that all diseases, ailments, symptoms, etc. will benefit from reduced stress. And finally, it's given me the tightest, strongest, best looking body I've ever had, which is a lovely side benefit.

To all of those with IBS and IBD, do not stop looking for answers. Something will work. Maybe not yoga or essestial oils, but something, I promise you, will work. You have to be your own advocate and if you're too sick to be your advocate, please let a family member or friend help you. If no one has volunteered, seek new friends and avoid your selfish family. i have suffered from ibs since the late 70'soff and on. i took a bottle of peptobismo a week and after being on several medications to try and slow my symptoms. i found that they only delayed my bowel movements so i simply suffered with diarrhea every night between 3am and 5am so that i could function the next day with minimal symptoms.i found an article by an internist on the INTERNET that said peppermint oil was as effective as medications. so i tried it.it worked! after about 7 weeks of daily intake of peppermint oil (2 to 3 drops in my coco) morning and night i am starting to have regularly formed bowel movements. i have a lot of experience with medications and know that everyone is unique in what medications work for them so if this does not work keep trying. also you can decrease the amount of oil you take as you become more regular so as not to over regulate your symptoms. i hope this helps some of you
