As a Type 1 Diabetic I believe any and all potential cures must be pursued. I was diagnosed with the disease at age 21 and it has been a very tough go since then. I consider myself fortunate to have been able to lead a normal adolescence free of the restraints and dangers of this terrible disease. It pains me to imagine millions of young children who will be denied some of the simple pleasures of childhood because they contract this disease.
