I strongly agree that diet and exercise are keys to battling diabetes. I've lost 15 pounds and I feel a lot better. I lowered my A1c, cholesterol, blood pressure and a truck load of problems. But I need to lower it more...

My husband has had no sweets and very little sprouted bread. Walks everyday and eating more veggies and still sugar is 170 so that goes to prove diet and exercise does not always bring sugar down. Also have him on cal-mag twice a day and he is eating lots of protein. Very upset with this.

About a month ago I was dianosed as having type 2 diabetes. My A1C was 10.1 and my blood glucose was 200 and I weighed 284. My Dr. put me on some meds but I didn't take them. Like most people I don't like to take meds so I starting walking between 4 - 5 days a week, changed what I was eating, cut out or waaaaayyyyy back on the starchy foods and sweets. As of about an hour ago my A1C is 8.1 my weight is 270. I can see the numbers getting better and I feel and look better. Exercise is great and helps the body in so many ways. I do feel good about the results, It's not happening as fast as I would like for it to but it's happening. I must tell you that I do check my blood eveyday and I do see my Dr. every 6 weeks. I hope this encourages and motivates each and everyone of you. You can beat diabetes, YOU CAN WIN!

Check out Raw foods and juicing and a couple of things to watch on Utube is : dave the raw food trucker Dave Conrary , Dan Mcdonald the liferegenerator and Dr Robert Morse - naturopathic doctor and healer and his herbal health club. Dave the trucker overcame diabetes, colon cancer and lost over 200LBS. Dan, liferegenerator is a 12 year raw vegan who picked himself up from the deep dark bowels of &*^* from a hard way of life to his transformation to regeneration and health. Dr. Morse is one of THE most inspiring people I have ever come to know, he is such a heaven sent soul and teaches detox and explains how the body works and how to regain a healthy body even if you have been diagnosed with many of todays diseases.

I find that several of your statements and recommendations are in opposition to Dr. Richard Bernstein, who has written Bernstein's Diabetic Solution. He explains why cream is best for coffee, rather than milk. He strongly recommends low carb and ignoring calories.

My mother is 83 years old and had Type 2 Diabetes. Recently we learned that her A1C is 10 plus. She doesn't exercise often, maybe a walk in the mall once a week. She doesn't want to take any additional medication to bring the levels into conformity. Is there a diet we can help her with that would bring her A1C down?
