I was in the water business for a few years back in the '70's. Worst thing I ever did. Haven't been able to drink a glass of unfiltered water since. We spent a lot of money testing a variety of springs, wells, aquifers and never found one that could meet our criteria. We finally went to an RO system in order to supply our customers with a decent product. If you want good safe drinking water filter it yourself.

When it comes to minimizing risks to one’s water supply from arsenic or anything else, the National Ground Water Association (NGWA) recommends that private well owners pay attention to:

* Proper well location and protecting ground water from potential contamination sources

* Proper well construction

* Regular well maintenance

* Regular water testing and treatment, if necessary.

Regarding water testing, NGWA recommends that private well owners test their water annually for bacteria, nitrates and anything of local concern, which in some cases could be arsenic.

To determine whether arsenic may be a local concern, well owners should consider checking with a qualified water well system contractor or their county health or environmental health department, or state health department.

There are some readily available treatment technologies that will remove most arsenic from water. Effective arsenic treatment approaches are:

* Membrane technology—Reverse osmosis (RO) treatment, typically installed at the point of use, not only removes arsenic but also removes many other substances to improve water quality.

* Ion exchange technology—This is a physical-chemical process typically installed at the point of use for arsenic.

* Adsorption media—This is a physical process involving the adherence of a contaminant to the surface of a porous medium (adsorbent). In arsenic removal, the two general categories of adsorbents are activated alumina adsorbents and iron-based adsorbents.

* Distillation—As with RO, distillation not only removes arsenic but also removes other substances to improve water quality.

It sometimes is necessary for pretreatment to be added to convert the arsenic to a different form for it to removed effectively.

When selecting a treatment system, use a qualified water treatment system service provider. Always have your water test results from a qualified laboratory in hand to make sure the treatment system you choose matches your needs.

It is advisable to test your water after the treatment system is operational to determine if it is working.

the authors conclude "more research is needed for determining if this association is causal"

A most important question for putting things in perspective is :"What is the percentage of T2DM people with high arsenic levels?"

And secondly: "Is arsenic the only poison that can affect metabolism - including glucose metabolism?"

Before a large and expensive prospective study is undertaken on the role of arsenic, we can also study how well the map of high-arsenic levels overlaps with the map of high-diabetes rates in US?

America could not care at all what is in the water as long as they are making a buck. That's capitalism for ya I guess. Flouride is another metal that is fine on the teeth, a slow death to swallow and that is in water everywhere..

I have found a system that not only takes the bad stuff out of the water but it also alkalines the water. Which is the best water for our bodies. This is the healthiest water for our bodies. Most of all we can process our own water. The greatest water I have ever found. No more buying bottled water (which is just tap water in a plastic bottle). I would love to share this with everyone that is interested in putting the right water into your body. This could change your life and the lives of your loved ones. Even a famous doctor whom has written many books and his latest says that alkalined water is the best water for our bodies. Join me today and let's take ownership of our health. We are the only ones that can do this.

The California State Department of Health, Drinking Water Division in Sacramento, California, has a CD available free of change upon request (all water test data on arsenic and other chemical tests required by the EPA since 1975), which shows that there is an overall increase in arsenic in drinking water tests across California.

In addition, the EPA has an enormous amount of information on other health effects related to having arsenic exposure. What is missing in the water test data is why the California State Department of Health has not responded to these increases in Arsenic in Drinking Water by issuing warnings to California residents.

In addition, not all drinking water systems in California have the type of water treatment facilities that can remove arsenic from drinking water. In addition, animals and wildlife will be exposed along with crops like rice and cereal. There are reports that there are unsafe levels of arsenic in England, May 2008 report and that arsenic has been found in rice cereal.

Where are these increases in arsenic coming from and why is the State of California slow in reacting to increasing levels of arsenic in drinking water across California?

Sincerely,

If you need to know more about arsenic in drinking water the EPA is a great source of information.

Doctors are like every one. There are good and bad only a fool looks at a doctor and trusts his method. I have had many doctors tests and evaluation and have found that you have the power of diagnoses not the doctor he can only react to your conversation. They are forced to use only FDA approved medication. I had food funges and they gave me pills and wanted blood for liver tests. I never went back I found Vicks was a cure and it worked I have no funges now. If something so simple is out there think of all the problems caused by medications and approved methods. The drug companys are for profit and if you die this is acceptable to them. You and only you can protect yourself think hard about your health and you will do the right thing. Praying God is the healer of men not the drug companys.

My husband always believed that the well water he drank in 1962 caused him to develop juvenille onset diabetes at age 11. This article gives credence to him. He died in 1999, at age 46.

Causes of diabetes are a fascinating and appropriate area of investigative journalism for our times, where over 24 million Americans have diabetes, and 1 in 4 Americans have either pre-diabetes or diabetes.

A doctor who is reversing diabetes naturally, we could safely say knows something about the cause. 35 years of experience gives Gabriel Cousens, MD, a 90% or better rate of returning diabetic people to the physiology of health and well-being without medication.

The work is the ongoing including 6 diabetics who became healed from July 20 to August 10, and 6 more who come August 29 through Sept 21. The plan includes green vegetable juice fasting for 7 days and live-food (raw) plant-source only organic food for the remainder of the program, along with emotional and mental clearing work.

This work gives hope and empowerment to a lot of people to find that entering the "culture of life" lifestyle actually works for them. The work has been seen in a feature documentary film called Simply Raw. For further reading, please see Gabriel Cousens, MD, "There Is A Cure For Diabetes: The Tree of Life Program"
