You are a lazy bastard of a parent. I've seen your type everywhere. You're the "oh no little johnny don't do that... please don't do that....don't do that....." as your munchkin does as he pleases. Grow up, grow a pair, and start actually parenting your kids instead of trying to be their freind.

You parents whining that your kids are fat little bastards ARE the reason your kids are fat little bastards. Take the nintendo and xbox away kick them ouside and make them play OUTDOORS. Your kid should be out riding his bike, shooting his BB gun, playing fort with his buddies, and occasionaly blowing something up with fireworks not glued to the couch playing modern warfare 2.

If McDonald's had any common sense they'd fire all their workers who work in the libtard state of California and close up shop there. Screw California and the liberals that run it.

It is the responsibility of THE PARENTS to control what their children eat. Why do we need Big Brother intruding into yet another area of our lives? The recent election has sounded a resounding NO to a paternalistic government. We need much less government intervention in our pockets and our daily lives, not more!

PS. For the love of God, people. With the serious problems we're facing in the country and our economy today, stealing the toys from Happy Meals was really the best you could do with your time? It seems we actually need a few more people on unemployment in San Fran.

First of all, being a parent means making smart choices for your children. Secondly, the govenment has no place telling a "store" of any type not to sell toys. Not unless it is an item that requires a special liscence ie liquor.

Third, I have to decide for myself what and when my son can have. As a parent, i hold the reigns. My child does not drive my car and force me to order him fast food. It is purely a lack of parenting that results in children that eat this food (which the government has already forced to make changes in a healthier direction) three to four times a day. Act like the parents you are claiming you are and make the right decisions for your child. Would you like the government to tell you how to wipe your bottom as well? Thats what you are slowly inviting them to do!

Get your slugs outside. Let them Run, Bike ,Fall ,bleed and be kids. Get It? Oh and I was shooting a .22 rimfire at 8 yrs old.

I hate those meals and it is all my kids want when we have to eat out. If we are in the car we have to watch them to be sure that they actually eat the meal and not just get a toy. Restaurants are for food, toy stores for toys. I won't just buy my kid any toy - but the happy meals have done away with that choice. I get to take away stuff and disappoint my kids instead. Bribing kids to eat their junk makes it difficult for the parents. Not to mention that all the plastic and button cell batteries are winding up in the landfill.

Childhood obesity is an expense that all society has to pay for so any attempts to reduce it should be considered. It is ridiculous to think that people should be able to make choices that the rest of us end up paying for in terms medical expenses. Once again, San Francisco (and NY with its calories on menus) is on the cutting edge and trying to improve things. Keep up the good work SF Board of Supervisors!

Nunya of MD: Couldn't agree more. One more example of politicians thinking that they have to make all decisions for the poor uneducated masses. Of course, we are to blame, because we elected them! Unbelievable.

As a parent of two children, I can honestly say that the government needs to mind its own business. If I want to buy my children a happy meal with a toy, that is my business. No one elses!!!! Let me be the parent....

This is just more proof that California is the dumbest state in the US. According to California, Everything causes cancer; businesses have extra taxes, (which is why most of the videogame companies moved to North Carolina). Everything is way overpriced. 17 dollars per movie ticket in CA vs. 17 dollars for 2 in NC. Do I even have to mention the fairy couples trying to marry each other? We should make California lighten up on all the hippy stuff. Kids are getting fat because the kids parents are fat. We as Americans need to watch other countries on how things are done well. And copy that (healthcare anyone?) the lies you hear on how horrible and overbooked other countries healthcare is not true at all.
