this whole web space is a front for drug advertisements hiding as public health information. It is disgusting, tragic and possibly grounds for civil action. Reader beware. WF Posey.

eh to me stop wasting money enforcing these useless laws and rules. They have no impact on if a child will smoke or not. They just waste tax payers dollars on enforcement. Instead how bout we just oh I don't know stop cutting education budgets and educate the children on the seriousness. But no we don't want to do that. We will just make sure tobacco companies don't run ads, or host sports. Cause I know that was what made my friends decide to start. I mean do they really think it makes a difference. I am glade they did away with blatant advertising, but this is just beyond usefulness. A better system is to create unique identifiers on all tobacco products, and similar to alcholol have the persons driver licenses scanned. Then when a minor is found with tobacco they can trace how bought it, and suddenly you greatly kill off people illegally buying smokes for children. Wouldn't really take too much to implement, and would cut out underage smoking significantly. But that is a solution, not just a pass-over, and solutions cost big businesses billions of dollars so that won't happen.

How about we quit babysitting the world and put the responsibility back on the individual. This is rediculous, is personal accountability really so far devolved from us that we have to hide temptations because no one has the will power or warewithall to manage their own life? And as for the obesity thing, why do we keep trying to change the food? It's not hard to eat healthy, thousands of people manage to quite successfully. If someone is too weak-willed, stupid, or arrogant to do anything about their being a disgusting fat person then it's their fault. They need to buck up and take responsibility rather then expect other people to fix their problems and accomodate them.

How about passing a law limiting the advertising pharmaceutical companies are allowed to do on TV, in Magazines and Newspapers. Maybe it would drop the price of drugs to consumers if they weren't spending billions on advertising, and maybe we would be a healthier society. Their advertising and symptoms are constantly in our faces.
