Inhalant Abuse a Deadly Middle-School Concern

I don't think too many people would argue that using cannabis is good for

you. However, the only reason that it has to be smoked is because of

prohibition. If it were legal, it would be cheap enough to eat. Using it

that way, it is, by far, the safest, most non-toxic intoxicant on the plant.

There is no justification for cannabis prohibition when far more dangerous

drugs are legal.

Cannabis is more harmful than crack?

Either that was a joke, or you are.

Clark Culver of NC 8:09PM March 13, 2010

Yes, I see my mistakes and I still want to hear your arguments.

John of CA 2:18PM March 12, 2010

Hmm look at this group and the diverse and biases conversation, now to address the definition of a Poison as I stated previously. A poisons are substances that can cause disturbances to organisms,[usually by chemical reaction or other activity on the molecular scale, when a sufficient quantity is absorbed by an organism. I agree alcohol and tobacco are poisons. So what are the arguments that when you smoke pot that you do not release any toxins in to you body. When you light up a cigaret you relaes over 4000 chemical it your body. Does asny one want to guess howm many you release when you light marijuana?

John of CA 2:12PM March 12, 2010

er... read again d. I said DRUGS ARE DRUGS - NOT chemicals are chemicals.

As for the boastful whoopee do - dr, lawyer, banker dude - for one who claims to have a profession which would require some degree of intelligence, you're very unenlightened. And how embarrassing mentioning your income - as if that, plus your group of profession business owners (which could mean anything really) and your kids doing great at school is solid proof that marijuana is not dangerous!! How inane! You and your suposed higher status and important, intelligent yuppie friends, and spouses are, like, what ... a zillionth of the population? There are many people who aren't as 'educated', degreed, weslthy and oh so successful as you are who believe that pot, and inhalents which lead to other drug use ARE dangerous, so your argument is defunct, not to mention flawed in an argument against pot.

Research shows that long term use of pot has a more detrimental affect than some drugs which are considered more illicit - such as crack cocaine. Ask the doctor friend to do some unbiased research - every doctor has a bias perspective. And not all pot is equal, pigs. I've smoked and grown (from seeds harvested in Africa, Europe and Australia) that many types of pot in my life and can tell you that some are far more dangerous than others. I have witnessed users of certain varieties totally lose their marbles and I too, a highly educated with a high income and my friends were from private schools - probably like your kids are. That means nothing. So go live on the other side and go get your clean little hands dirty and get a REAL education. Not from your pseudo drug smoking pastiche wannabe potheads.

I am in my late 40s. My group of lifelong friends (about 10 of us plus spouses) from elementary and high school virtually all smoke pot, some very often. We are all lawyers, bankers, doctors, management professionals, and business owners and probably have an average income in the area of $500,000 per year, are all married for about 20 years with NO divorces, have stable families with kids doing great in school and are contributing members of society and our communities. I'm sure everyone will say bs you're making it up but believe what you want, marijuana is probably the least harmful drug out there and we taxpayers pay these cowboys in our government 10s of billions of dollars per year to do nothing but enrich murderous criminals and gangs. I don't condone it for youngsters but after all the satellites, jets, helicopters, ships, submarines, agents, gov't beauracrats and billions and billions and billions of drug war dollars, my teenage kids can buy pot, or most drugs for that matter, any time they want. It's about personal responsibility, not that that's a popular concept in the Obama era.

Dave of FL 8:12PM March 11, 2010

wow, how can you say chemicals are chemicals.

Everything around you is a chemical, and each one has properties. The properties of THC make it safe. Weed doesn't kill brain cells, infact recent studies have shown it may stimulate the growth of brain cells and can fight against cancer cells.

Kids are gonna get high, pot is way better for them than inhalants like duster. No one has ever died from weed, people die from inhalants every day. Way to do drug war! Way to go prohibition!

brad of MI 8:02PM March 11, 2010

legalise pot?? what an unintelligent twit. obviously killed off all your brain cells d of MD.

I knew somebody who dropped dead at aged 15 from inhaling cooking spray. drugs are drugs and drugs are dumb (like d of MD - d for dumb)

JMS - Sydney Australia 7:35PM March 11, 2010

Pot should be legalized, it's harmless. What should be outlawed is BOOZE.

It's pretty simple math. Oh, but then the government couldn't line their pockets with cash from the BOOZE companys. Big brother wants to shake his finger in the face of a few harmless stoners sitting on their couches with a bag of cheetos and a coke watching re-runs of a space odity. Yes, these are the ones who are a menace to society... Whatever.

Teenagers will huff no matter what, all aspects of life, both sides of the track, it simply does not matter. Kids are kids... Before we had chemicals they huffed horse crap.

pj of NM 6:19PM March 11, 2010

That last one was for John of CA, not Galen.

Sorry, Galen.
