Why are we the only species on the planet that continues to drinks milk after infancy? I'd rather listen to nature than a nutritionalist

Children that are active and not sitting in front of TV's, video games, or computers should drink Whole Organic Milk, in my unprofessional opinion. Two percent, 1%, and Skim milk all have more sugar. Milk should be enjoyed, not something that too needs to be watered and sugared down, unless it's with strawberry or chocolate. I'm so tired of all the rules. If people would let their children play outside and would stop feeding them junk made from High Fructose Corn Syrup (i.e. Corn Sugar) we wouldn't be having the rise in childhood obesity. Instead of messing with our healthy foods (I.e. Whole Milk), get rid of all the sodas and junk!

Do people not realize that doctors make more money the more you go in? In other words, the sicker they keep you the richer they become. No conflict of interest there....

Drink raw milk only and watch your health improve. Just be sure it is from healthy cows or goats and not a huge dairy farm pumping their animals full of antibiotics and hormones. Do yourself a favor and do some research.

How can anyone be so unhappy re milk? I was raised on skim milk because of lower cost during Great Depression; whole milk tasted as good as ice cream to me. Skim milk did not make me thin. Exercise is the answer for children who have hardly no where to run and play in these days -- so people who complain about should think of the great loss of freedom current children have with no playgrounds or even their own yards, streets or alleys to move around in.

These are hilarrious!! comments because, As a parent you have to do your homework on your childs nutrition. Everyone is diffrent and read all your labels a healthy diet always starts at home. we are cheating our selfs if we do not provide the best for our own kids. Always ask the pediatrician when in dout.

Oh my god! Milk has PROTEIN!!! That's amazing! I've been looking for protein all over the place, and it's not like vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, fruit, and whole grains have any!

Oh, and A FULL 2200 CALORIES of nothing but dairy doesn't have the recommended amounts of Niacin or potassium, so it must be a rich source!

This article is hilariously obvious. According to a report by the American Dairy Association Kids Need More Milk! Ha! And the logic is terrible, if it is only the list of nutrients then a pill would be fine, or total cereal (not all those bowls of some other brand).

I looked this up for info and got canned crap instead.

Is a cup of milk a full serving? Or is it more than one cup?

Emily of OR 1:19PM October 12, 2009

It's fat free, but has 16% more calcium and 25% more protein than regular milk. Plus, the chocolate milk has less sugar than fruit juices.

It's delicious and healthy!
