Drinking milk is NOT a healthy food for anyone. It is a major cause of constipation, ear infections in children, is linked to osteoprosis and prostate cancer, fibromyalgia, allergies, arthritis, asthma. Milk is high in saturated fats and cholesterol. There are better sources of calcium. Plus we are not cows. If we wouldn't drink breast mill why are we still consiming mill from another species? The facts about milk and the latest research can be found Dr. T. Colin Campbells China Study, on Dr. Joel Furhman's website and books, Dr. John MgDougall website and on Dr. Greger's website and DVDs.

I don't agree with this article. Milk for toddlers is not necessary. You can get protein, fat and calcium from unprocessed foods (yes, milk is processed because it is pasteurized.) Pasteurization changes the chemical makeup in milk proteins which is why many people are intolerant. The reason why milk is pushed is because milk producers lobby to the FDA and other health organizations. Do some research, I suggest checking out the Weston A Price foundation website. Best wishes and good health to all.

Milk fat is actually a good fat and is necessary for digesting the protein and absorbing the calcium in milk. Milk fat contains glycosphingolipids, types of fats linked to immune system health and cell metabolism. The old arguments of why everything we consume should low fat is erroneous. Food in it's natural state is far more healthy than food that has been manufactured to be "healthy". There is everything right about consuming healthy fats in moderate quantities and avoiding manufactured food. Have you ever seen 2%, 1% or skim milk come out of a cow?

Why do companies have to remove all the saturated fat in cow's milk to make it low-fat or skim milk? They know most people are not drinking 3 cups of low-fat cow's milk everyday like the Dairy industries tell you. Why don't the USDA say drink 3 cups of whole milk instead? Do you believe people had the technology to remove fat found in cow's milk a 100 years ago? They know why don't recommend it. It's because they don't want people to die from heart disease, heart attacks, strokes, etc. drinking so much whole milk.

Of course the government wants people to drink milk. Due to the obvious conflict of interest between the dairy industry and the USDA,the government both subsidizes and endorses the dairy industries. Humans aren't really supposed to be drinking milk from cows. Milk is good for a calf, but not really healthy for people at all. Adults drinking milk on the regular basis isn't very common every where else in the world, especially in Asia. Propaganda and lies from National Dairy Council (NDC) is working well at fooling most Americans.

The food pyramid is also a bunch of hooey too. It is ''udderly'' ridiculous. Why does Milk and dairy have its own food group? As if cow's milk is required at all in your diet. Why do so many people who work for the dairy industry made the food pyramid in fact? Most people around the world are lactose-intolerance. All mammals wean away from their mother's milk, even people. Trust me, people will survive without cow's milk. Calcium can be food many other foods besides milk. Don't listen to the USDA and their Got Milk? ads. People don't need to drink milk at all need in their diet.
