My name is julia. I have a son who is 11 that has had almost all of his recess taken away from him because at Lord Baltimore elementary because instead of giving a child a tutor in math class the math teacher would rather give what they call recess detentions. My sons being cruelly punished by having no recess for almost three months this year and his geades have dropped from honor roll to almost barely passing. My 11 yr old son deserves to have recess and times for his friends the kids need to be kids and these articles proove this .. and stop being punished by a few out of shape teachers who could also use some exercise thankyou

i think that this is very helpful and that recess should be extended 5 min longer and that it is so helpful.
