doesn't not have tons of synthetic molecules or it doesn't have tons of synthetic molecules or it does have loads of synthetic molecules. which one is it im sorry but if im reading something that is arguing for or against something it needs to make sense otherwise the argument is nullified, and close minded. but anywho the simple fact of the matter is that governments are shutting off a means of curing a condition or atleast treating one. just because years ago, narrow minded people didn't listen to the qualified scientists who came out with marijuana not being as harmful as once thought. and to take away something that can make passing on a little more bearable is a harsh thing to do, psilocybin gives a euphoric feeling and when dying in horrible pain with emotions running wild you would much rather die in euphoric bliss instead of a miserable state we should let people who are dying make their own choice not the governments. at the end of the day the founding principles of law are done via the ten commandments and where does it say that we shouldn't use substances to cure a person from a painful illness it doesn't cause i just another look at them. i think the closest thing to it is "thou shalt not kill" which in a matter of fact the government are breaking by not taking up the usage of medicinal marijuana and psilocybin treatment. goverments need to stop with there stupid laws they'll treat a smack'ed with an self inflicted addiction that is killing them by making a similar drug with side effects. the answers are in front of them in the class of A and B, im just an on looker on the situation but people are in the situation and need help, people conducting these experiments are the ones who should be in charge, THINK, much love from Christian may a musician with sense http://soundcloud.com/surrealistic-psychosis

Botanicals, such as psilocybin & marijuana, are tools. It came as no surprise to read that patients at the end of their lives, have found these things to be beneficial. Our culture has been brainwashed by political propoganda about psychoactive compounds. Such a shame. Tim Leary is smiling upon those who help our family members to become open-minded at the end of their life and die consciously. When Christians ask what would Jesus do, they'd likely be dumbfounded to discover He would approve the use of psychoactives. An open mind is a beautiful thing to behold...

It is no accident that people of faith often want to curtail the private freedoms of others(though not every time). This impulse has less to do with the history of religion and more to do with its logic, because the very idea of privacy is incompatible with the existence of God. If God sees and knows all things, and remains so provincial a creature as to be scandalized by certain sexual behaviors or states of the brain, then what people do in the privacy of their own homes, though it may not have the slightest implication for their behavior in public, will still be a matter of public concern for people of faith. Check out the states (bible belt) where oral and anal sex is illegal, yes, illegal even in your own home under the specific statutes & by-laws
First I wanna take a moment to honor and remember everyone that has passed away from a painful and slow death due to the countless illnesses we are forced to live with
To the writer of the comment your dumb as f*** do some research and then you may truly overstand why people choose to medicate thru an all natural and organic way first its free second it doesn't not have tons of synthetic molecules with countless side effects wake up you close mined nobody I don't care what you have done with your life you are a virus FREE WILL stay out of the real world its better for everyone that way

psychoactive botanicals and fungi have been placed on this planet for a reason. Like it or not, these compounds have played major roles in our evolution as a race. Only when we embrace the neccessity of our psychodellic usage can we go beyond all these petty differences like religion and political allignment. Want to know why you are scared of the dark or why you are so closed minded? take a crash course in psycology and sociology! its simplistically retarded how 90% of the world has allowed themselves to be blind throughout life. the only garauntee in life is death; and yet that is exactly what we avoid because the shallow idea of some physicality ruling your decisions and looks is soo much better than seeing the truth. we even pump ourselves full of preservatives and get professional make-up for open casket bull-s#!t get over it and explore something beyond the physical (you will reside there soon enough)

Man is on a quest for other life forms. How are we going to handle it when we find other cultures with their own religions, mind-altering substances, and whatever else we like or dislike in this little world of ours? Snap out of it. This a plant and whether or not it was put here for a reason it seems to serve a purpose so harness its potential. Lions, tigers, and sharks bite and kill people. I guess we should eradicate them because they could be gateways to scarier animals. Enjoy this gift called life however you see fit without ruining someone elses. If that means eating some mushrooms, enjoy. You'll have a better time than any judgmental sap would anyway.

Dude, what a win for those who want to just stay high all the time. This is HUGE!
Drugs for whatever. You can smoke marijuana for pain... How bad is your pain? Broken leg, Cystic Fibrosis, PMS, inflamed hangnail? Now they want to legalize hallucinogenic mushrooms for cancer. Colin cancer, breast cancer, prostate cancer, suspect mole on your butt cancer, "naturalpath tells you, you might have cancer" cancer?
I know a young woman who is a naturalpath and does marijuana for her back pain. Poor thing struggles but, she is able to run 2 or more marathons a year, and runs about 10miles a day. I guess dope is for self inflicted pain too!
It is not about Ignorance and Fear of people staying wasted all the time. Stay home and take all you want. It is about them doing it in the work place, and on the highways, as airline pilots, or just before they do surgery. It is about a nation that feels that whatever smoke, drink, shot, inhalant, snort, patch, suppository, can get me through, I need it. So, then what? DO you get a "Get Out of Pissing in the Bottle, Free Card" so that there is no abuse accountability?
Get a life. Get off dope. Maybe you can run one less marathon and the pain will subside. As for benefits from street drugs for your woes, Dude! Join the dope-heads.

The inception of the CSA of 1970 was enacted for pure political reasons. The populace of the USA that would have been fighting the Vietnam War was actively rallying against it. Drugs like marijuana and psychedelics promoted critical thought against their government. This could not be allowed so all those drugs were included on the Schedule 1 list.
Once on Schedule 1, it is to never come off that list. Such as it is ....

I love psychedelics. They've directly contributed to a very real, powerful, and concrete improvement in my life. I've been following this research for a couple years now, and communicate regularly with MAPS. But I do think we need to keep in mind that the whole range of entheogens do come with a risk associated--they are not, as an above commenter claimed, characterized by "no negative or detrimental effects on either the users or society as a whole." Every time we dose, we run a powerful risk, and this is ESPECIALLY true for first-time users. We only fool ourselves if we pretend that psychedelic crises don't happen. But at the same time, we need to make it clear that the risk of psychedelic crisis is NO GREATER THAN the risk of adverse reaction to ANY OTHER MEDICATION. THIS is the truth which we must discuss, THIS is the truth we must teach. Otherwise we lie, and that makes us no better than those forces which would keep us from using these chemicals.
On a more polemical note, nobody has the right to tell anyone what they can or can't put in their bodies, so this drug war thing is bovine feces in the first place.
