I can see how statistically the numbers are better with the vaccine, but is it necessary to have so many people get the vaccine when they weren't very susceptible in the first place? It seems like it might be an unnecessary risk. There are safer practices and good alternative health products like what is at www.healthyisahead.com that could help boost immune function without the risk of having the virus introduced to your system.

Does this mean that people who already have the strain that causes warts could take the vaccine to prevent warts? That would be great. Maybe I'm confused though...

There is no reason whatsover to trust any research results where Merck is involved.

It is well known that Merck has a culture of corruption and criminality.

If the article stated that an independent study had been conducted to find "the vaccine 'provided strong and sustained protection' for four years against various types of warts and low-grade female genital growths" it would have caught my attention.

The time has past for Merck funded studies on the safety and efficacy of Gardasil. Reports, data and peer-reviewed analysis are finding and stating otherwise.

According to VAERS there are now 18,600 adverse reactions and 76 deaths mostly attributed to Gardasil. And that is only 1 to 10% of the population reporting. VAERS also reports 278 abnormal pap smears including cervical lesions up to two years post-vaccination.

The world - and even Wall Street is getting tired of Merck's "award-winning" marketing strategies in the name of the health and well being of our adolescents.

According to a paper written by Elizabeth Nicole Wolfe, "A case study of the development and promotion of the Gardasil vaccine" (7/19/2010)

"Merck facilitated the social construction of the human papillomavirus as a problem needing treatment and successfully positioned Gardasil to be the solution to that problem."

Let us not forget this.
