I just lost my daughter to stage 4 melanoma. She survived 10 years after the initial diagnosis. I would suggest that anyone with melanoma go to MD Anderson in Houston, TX. They have treatments other facilities do not. They treat all types of cancer and people from all over the world go there to be treated. She was in two clinical trials with amazing success. Only after the decreasing the dose in the second trial, did it start to go downhill. My daughter owes her extended life to these wonderful people. From the orderlies to the Drs, these people really care and it shows. I urge anyone with cancer to go there. They can help you.

I developed Breslie level IV melanoma of the neck 2001, remaining clear until 3/2007 with cerebral recurrences treated with surgical exturpation and gamma knife irradiation on two occasions followed with a clinically free course for 3 years, now followed by Dr. O'Day.
I self treated with Vit.D3,5,000 IU daily since then.
I have greatest faith in Dr. O'Day and will follow this study closely.
My strongest support for Dr. O'Day.
Rich, the survivor.

I have seen a huge increase in melanomas in patients where I work. This could be a miracle drug for the skin cancer diseases

This is great to hear. I was diagnosed originally in 1996 with a mole on the lower leg. After its removal it metastasized a few months later in the lymphatic system with a node in the left groin. After removing the node I was then enrolled in a study comparing interferon therapy to the melanoma vaccine. I was assigned the interferon and had a month of daily IV therapy followed by a year of subcutaneous therapy 3 times weekly. I was very, very fortunate enough to not only survive but have been cancer free since (knock on wood, fingers crossed). Lets hope this really does have the benefits they are expecting.

This may be the last breakthrough for a long while. The U.S. based drug manufacturers have dumped all their highly trained U.S. reaserch chemists and shipped the work to India and China. Another blessing of free trade.
