Bell,

How long have you been irradiating yourself? Your skin must be hotter 'n Chernobyl by now, and I think it's affecting your brain. Did you read the article you commented on, or are you just in need of an outlet for your inanity?

The study showed that A TOTAL of 50 hours of tanning bed exposure almost TRIPLES the risk of melanoma. At 15 minutes per week, as you recommend, you'll have permanently and irreversibly married yourself to considerable melanoma peril within a year or two.

Go outside, walk, run, bike get your vitamin d in a natural way, move get fresh air. We are a nation of disgusting, lazy people who don't want to work for anything.

10 to 15 minutes per week is OK, unless your body tells you not.

Cheers!

Have you been under a rock for the last 30 years? Late breaking development, smoking may cause cancer as well. Oooooooo!

Fortunately, the flyers practice so hard they never get out in the sun so they have no risk of getting cancer. Unfortunately, for the Blackhawks, their cancer levels are going to be a dangerous level once the flyers destroy them...

Let's go flyers!!!!!!!!!!!

Have we also discovered that the earth is round? Yes, this problem is often looked but it's not a new problem. Give me break. Slow news day?

Do frequent sunburns increase risk of melanotic skin cancer? Yes. Does UVA and UVB exposure cause DNA transcription errors? Yes. Does any person actually use a tanning bed solely for vitamin D? Probably not (a supplement would be cheaper). Every person's health is their own, and no one should attempt to sway other people's health choices just to further defend their own. It is possible that research on both sides is biased to one side or the other, but the research in cellular biology and genetics alone is enough to keep me away from ANY excess UV.
