I can confirm the study results as I have always been told that i have dense breat tissue and was recently diagnosed with cancer after 3 years of taking estrogen replacement. To answer Kaddy - you should alternate on a six month rotation a yearly mammogram with a yearly Breast MRI as I was advised. The mammogram showed nothing in September '09 but the MRI fshowed a tumor in March '10. I am a week away from surgery and lucky to have this found so early.

I believe this article points out a potentially fruitful direction for breast cancer research. Some researchers have long pointed out the connection between breast fibrosis and future incidence of breast cancer. Another recent article pointed out that women who took vitamins have a lower incidence of breast cancer. Most multivitamins contain some form of non-organic (not carbon containing) iodine. And there is evidence that non-organic iodine reduces breast fibrosis.

Having been diagnosed with moderate to severe dysplasia, what should one do besides yearly mammograms?
