I'm 62 and have had an enlarged prostate for many years. Yes coffee does aggravate the problem but I find if I limit coffee to about 12 ozs a day it's possible to drink coffee. I also was prescribed terazosine at 5mg to help me pee but I had to worst problem with any urine in my bladder. The disconfort and urgency was unbearable. I asked my doc to increase the dosage to 10mgs with no releive for the unbearable disconfort. The side effects from this medicine are that when I ejeculate nothing comes out. This ain't easy to talk about but this enlarged prostate is something I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy (that would be Dick Chaney). Anyway here's what finally really helped. That's was saw palmetto. I had heard it was good for prostate health but it never worked before, till I started taking it regularly. That was the trick. I got at first 160 mgs but later found saw palmetto with 450 mgs for less in price. Well gentlemen that did the trick Now I'm not waking up 5 to 6 times a night with that miserable urgency to pee. I take to terozosine at 5 mgs once a day and the 450 mg saw palmetto twice a day. Hope this advise helps.

Gee, another study that doesn't see to hold water....if coffee so darn good, why don't they just inject the prostate with caffeine? I'm sure there are other factors involved....you can't believe everything they say....because next week that will change.

Keep consumption to within reason, I have found too much can cause cramping. Especially mile 50 on a 56 mile bike leg in last September's Westchester 70.3.
The antioxidants are definitely beneficial; however, you can receive the same affects from green tea. Pick your poison, keep balanced.
