The article states that lung cancer is due to life style changes. Two-thirds of newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer are either in people who never smoked and former smokers who gave up smoking decades ago; yet research funding for lung cancer is the lowest of all major cancers. For example, in 2009 federal research funding (from NIH, CDC and DOD) for breast cancer is $1 Billion and for lung cancer is $199 Million, and lung cancer is the leading cause of all cancer deaths. It kills more people each year than breast, colon, liver, prostate and kidney cancers and melanoma COMBINED!
