In Norway study , the dosage of prescribed folic acid was 2.5 mg per day that is much more than the amounts of folic acid is being added in fortification programs. Considering that intake more than upper limits of every nutrient would be harmful , it needs further researches in the general populations to see the possible risk of folic acid fortification.

If you read the article carefully, you will see that the population the researchers are talking about are "People with ischemic heart disease". This is not the general population. Obviously there is more going on with heart patients than with the rest of society. Now, let's do another sample of the general population without heart disease and see what happens. I'll bet the results are different.

I take a prescription for folic acid (2.5mg) with b6 (1mg) & b12 (25mg), for elevated homosystein. I've been taking this for at least 5 years. one year ago, I was diagnosed with cancer, but not the type this article refers to, it was breast cancer.

I think weight gets blamed for a lot of things.Cancer, diabetes among other diseas.... I have seen people who weigh over 250 lbs all their lives live to be in their nineties. I think it depends on who the person is if it is inherit or somebody was just been a HOG and gained weight...I believe it is what kind of parents you were blessed with. Some people are going to be big regardless how little they eat because it was inherited down thru the years of the family they were borned in.and not what they ate. I have seen a lot of people eat like HOGS and stay skinny (eat the same food the fatties were eating.

DON'T YOU JUST LOVE MY OPINION!!!!
