I lost my wife to breast cancer in 2002 at age 67, my grandaughter a few days ago to the same disease at age 38. My complaint in the medical therapy used on both was that while the oncologists kept mentioning possible clinical trials for them, they kept throwing standard highly toxic chemo and radiation at them until they were so depleted and weak from therapy over the years, that they could not qualify for clinical trials. Something is just not right with this approach.
I would appreciate a response from anyone who can explain this commom complaint, and why clinical trials are used on some people and not on others. The doctors never could give me an answer that made any sense. Thanks
