I think that with a program to better health issues for women should contain both traditional, herbal and the access to better health care will follow. I believe that if you stick to a more closely traditional program that you will have better results.

For instance, herbal use is favorable, and supplemention is to, to explain that these along side health care can benefit all native women. You have to start with other Indian women teaching such workshops or gatherings to see that other options are available. Just telling them about what is available at the health clinic in not enough. SOme will not see a 'white docor' or go to the 'clinic', or don't want others to now their condition. To overcome these barriers use outreach programs that appeal to the native women with their own traditional uses first. I am also a member of the Torres-Martines Desert Cahuilla Tribe.
