Downs Syndrom may be due to the failure of CREB to activate PKA. CREB/PKA are also intimately involved in activation of VEGF. It may simply be that the transcriptional fidelity of CREB is impaired in all cells producing cognitive deficits in the brain and impeded angiogenesis in periphery and organs other than the brain.
