No one on either side of my family, as far as I know, has cancer. I am 63 I have colon cancer. I am a product of the 60 ties, Camridge, Mass. hippiedom etc. They, (the doc`s) think I have beat it. Do not know, yet. I am not worried, never have. Polio epidemic (bulbar) got it,(survived), lightning struck 2X, stabbed once in back while running trucking co.

This is an extremely thought-provoking article. I wonder why, if most cancers don't occur until after age 50, why does it occur in people under the age of 50? Also, I wonder if the diets and/or lifestyles of cultures who don't get cancer, contribute in any way to changing human DNA, genomes, telephases, or whatever? Someone needs to focus a study on why those people "escape" cancer and diabetes and other potentially fatal diseases/disorders, so that American people can follow the same lifestyles; the "mystery answer(s)" may not be complex at all. God did not create humans to be complex beings, or to have to deal with such complex lives, such as existing complex health mysteries, i.e., cancer. My wish is that certain people need to pull their heads out of a "bubble" shall we say, and stop trying to be "stars" and instead try to be "team players" in the Team of Life, and freely share what we know. We'll never find the cure if they're only focused on getting awards, recognition, fame, money, and their "medical discoveries" in Lancet, and T.V. documentaries and shows. Thank you for this opportunity to write my opinions and feelings. Keep up these great articles!! I greatly enjoy reading them!

Why does the article say to knock out telomerase to stop cancer, when it is telomerase that keeps the ends from fraying? Doesn't make sense to me.
