I used smokeless tobacco for years and it is also no good. Have been nicotine free for several years and it is a great feeling to not be a slave to the substance. Now the price of the addiction is so high that should be factor enough to stop using something that will kill you. Have been to China several times and it is amazing how many of the Chinese me smoke and hack and spit.

This is information I would like to share with those for whom I care but, the addiction to nicotine is so great they are fearful of hearing. Dealing with smokers about their smoking is one of the most frustrating things I've encountered. They will deny, deny, deny.

Make it a commitment. Quit smoking and live a life of purity.

It's been very obvious to anyone who works in the medical community that smoking causes many diseases and kills many people. It's time for many smokers to quit the denial of the harm, and quit smoking.

The smoking causes ED argument may not rigorously stand up, but to try to deny the link REEKS of tobacco advocates raising a smoke screen to obscure truth.
How many times have tobacco executive piously sworn that they knew of no studies proving a link of smoking to cancer.

I am an ex-smoker now for over 15 years after smoking 23 years. At home I either smoked by the kitchen exhaust fan or outside because hubby quit after having a lung abscess. 3 months after I quit, I realized that smokers smelled really bad. When I asked hubby why he never said anything to me, he said it was because I'd never believe him. It's true; smokers cannot smell their own smoker's stench. (They can't taste food properly either.) If I was ever tempted to smoke again, all I'd need to do is stand 10 feet from one of the smokers in my office. They stink to high heaven - hair, clothes, papers they touch. Ugh!!

4. It may stultify a sex life. If men want to hop aboard the Viagra bandwagon, mounting evidence suggests that puffing cigarettes might be just their ticket. Smokers are more apt to experience erectile dysfunction than nonsmokers are.

The Sur.Gen. says that smoking has no effect on men's sexual ability to function.
Perhaps the other 11 reasons are just as bogus.

As the child of two smokers and someone who smoked from 15 to 47, I read the article with horror and unfortunately, recognition. As my mother smoked during her pregnancy I was born smoking, I never knew that cigarettes had a smell until I left home.
It is as though nicotine has its own life and once you let it into your body it becomes a consuming parasite that needs constant feeding. Once I got hold of that thought and realized just how /hard/ it was to stop, I dug in and stopped. Hardest thing I have ever done, bar nothing.
A friend, who was an ex-smoker told me, tracing a figure in the air that once 'my box was full, I would stop.' He was right.
