So look at the four people around you. If they look normal, then it's YOU!

How ridiculous. Whatever criteria used for this are absurd. The community of mental health "experts" is looking for another cash infusion. Think of the cash flow if 20% of Americans could be convinced that they needed therapy. Nice try :).

UCSF food and nutrition managers continue to blame employees, and retaliate against them by eliminating their bonus, in response to their naturally occurring depressed state. Every day the employees in the department have to work in a building with a morgue. Just 3 floors below the cafeteria dead bodies are processed, some of the bodies were patients whom the employees delivered meals to or served meals to family members of. The stressfulness of the job is not readily apparent nor trained for. One day a nutritionist may be inputting the nutritional requirements for a child with leukemia, whom she had gotten to know over 4 months, and the next she may not need to because no donor was found. And then her boyfriend cheats on her because she is never around due to the demands of the UCSF F&N department internship. She has now lost a child and a partner, and yet UCSF did nothing. The "hospital" which claims to be "Caring" and 7th best in the country, allowed one of its 20,000 to succumb to a tragic depressed state caused by her environment. The loss of so much in her life in such a short time was more than the recent graduate could endure. Her mentors, supervisors and managers @ UCSF had no time, and no care, to ensure the welfare of its own intern. The callousness apparent in the behavior of those who continue to run the department is quixotic. That they do not exhibit their concern for their fellow employees is statistically impossibly. 40 hours a week is enough time to say hello to everyone in the department. 240 people X 1 minute each = 240 minutes (aka 4 hours in a week) 40 minutes a day ... in order to save a life .... is it worth it? What does "Caring" actually mean?? Does it mean that if u r late more than 6 times in 2 months u get no bonus? A person who is late 10 minutes, 6 times receives no bonus; yet a person who is late 2 hours twice does. The one who is 4 hours late, cumulative over 2 months, gets a bonus , but the one who was only an hour late, cumulative, does not. If this is what "Caring" means to UCSF i believe they should consult their own Langley-Porter hospital. To believe that to deny a bonus to someone, in ANY circumstance, is to misunderstand what it is to "care". That would be tantamount to saying the "code blue" team didnt have to respond to calls from rooms of inmates. To allow managers to decide whom UCSF "cares" about is clearly a violation of the Hippocratic Oath; To first do no harm. How could denying an employee a bonus not cause harm? A 1/2 bonus may be an incentive, but a 0 bonus is in no way interpreted as Caring and can only be seen to harm the employee. Denying an employee a bonus is clearly retaliation, as the triggering punishment has already been wrought. An employee who is late 10 minutes, 6 times is regretful, as is the one who is 2 hours late twice. To randomly infer, or let managers decide, that the former gets no 3% bonus yet the latter does is likely unconstitutional. The CEO's bonus was over $30,000!?!?!?

If in US there will not be a comprehensive and affordable program to treat 20% of mentally sick population the whole nation will go down soon. To have an insurance is not a solution due to the shortage of good therapists. Those who are the best do not accept any insurance and charge $300 per hour!!! Reimbursement from insurance, as the doctor is out of network, is a pure joke.

I suppose that religious extremism is not in the list of mental instability. If it would be, Pat Robertson would be on top of the list of incurables. Benny Hinn not, he is a marketing expert and not a fool.
