I think what this research shows that the women who take Valproate have increase rate to have children with ASD. But this is might be not due to Valproate pre ser, but just because the women with epilepsy has increase rate to get ASD child. To my knowledge, epilepsy and ASD is indeed associated.

This is interesting reading. My son has ASD and his father has epilepsy and takes Valproate...will it be the same effect as for a woman and could that be what caused my sons ASD?
