When someone you love commits suicide it leaves those left behind with a lifetime of sorrow and regret.
When I was 12 years old in 1978, a woman from my church who helped me join the ladies alter guild, committed suicide. She was beautiful and kind to me. When no one else wanted me she took me for rides and got me ice cream after church. She left behind her whole family even a young son who grieved for her. But I was much alone in my grief. For as long as I live I will never forget the pain and heartbreak that resulted. I still remember her each year on April 11. I am not over it to this day and have tears in my eyes writing.
If anyone out there is reading this, I ask them from my heart to reconsider any thoughts of suicide. I can't imagine what she was really going through that drove her to that. But I loved her and I never even got to tell her.
