Everyone, please investigate the possible connection of lack of sunlight (vitamin D) exposure to the mother during pregnancy as a potential cause of autism. Google: vitamin D and autism. Since the 1980's or so, when doctors began promoting "staying out of the sun to prevent skin cancer", autism rates have soared. Autism rates are also higher in states that receive less sunlight (Northern states in the US), and in darker skinned people who absorb less sunlight. There is even an explanation for why boys are more often affected. Please help spread the word so we can get more research focus on this possible cause! This could be preventable by getting sunlight during pregnancy...and may even offer treatment to autistic children (sunlight treatment or high doses of vitamin D supplementing)
