I would like to see some research done on the effects of unnatural chemical food additives and refined foods on hyper-sensitive individuals (autistic people) and what these chemicals (refined foods can be more like chemicals than foods) have on some percentage of the populations neuro developement during childhood - Vaccines are unnatural substances too.....?

The supposed connection between vaccines and autism is based on a tiny, fraudulent study by a discredited doctor in the UK. People still believe the study because autism is a condition that manifests itself around the same time as scheduled vaccinations.

Autism rates in Oregon are the same as other parts of the US, despite thimerasol being banned there many years ago.

The South Korean study was based on only 300 participants and the way it was done made so that who chose to participate were more likely to be autistic than the general population.

Recent studies have shown differences in the genetic make-up of brain tissue between autistic and non-autistic individuals. These brain differences come from when the baby's brain is forming in the womb, long before the child receives any vaccinations at all. (Incidentally, the study involved twice as many subjects as the Wakefield study).

There is simply no amount of proof or research that will sway those who have a blind belief that vaccinations cause autism, and countless unnecessary outbreaks of disease would be prevented if the anti-vaccination people were less vocal.

Please check out this nonprofit: http://talkinc.org/index.html TALK Institute and School in Newtown Square Pennsylvania.

The TALK Institute and School, formerly the Magnolia School, is the nation's most progressive center for the education of children with autism and language disorders outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. As teachers, therapists and researchers we are at the forefront of a new, more accurate and person-centered understanding of autism -- one that presents autism as a sensory-based movement disorder profoundly affecting language, social interaction and praxis. There is Pr"ofit" in this disease! Most of what we believe is based on very expensive paid for studies that can't hold up under the lightest touch of scrutiny. Our CDC paid for out of country studies in Denmark, why? Denmark is about the size of Maryland, there was no need to take vaccine/autism issues to a country that does NOT follow an immunization schedule for infants that resembles the one used in the USA! Their finding was that 14 in 10000 children developed autism after the removal of thimerosal. The most recent count in Korea which is a country that DOES follow a similar vaccine schedule as the USA is 1 in 39 children have autism. Our CDC claims that 1 of 110 born the year 1998 have autism, we have NOT completed a study of children following the "lessening of thimerosal" in this country. Funding from many organizations is being guided toward negative findings, there is control over these monies to avoid the elephant in the room, "VACCINES", instead money is being thrown on genetic study after genetic study, with results so undefined no one could decipher, these studies soak up the money like a sponge with no helpful information to offer. Politics in autism? I'm just a mom with a limited science background, yet everytime the media presents us with a study, with a claim of fraud, I do my homework and from my sidechair I assure you they are "lying".
