The statistics may well have been blown up. Sometimes this is done so that people will feel that since most others do something, it's surely safe.

Statistics are like bikinis: What they reveal is suggestive, but what they conceal is vital! (Aaron Levenstein)

Are they serious? If you don't vaccinate it's because you listen to celebrities? How about not vaccinating due to concern over the vaccinations and their ingredients or how about their overall effectiveness. I have three children, the first one fully vaccinated and on the autism spectrum, the second one partially vaccinated, & the third one not vaccinated. I can assure you it's not because of Jenny McCarthy, it's because I wish I could go back in time & not vaccinate my first son & see if it would have made a difference!

Other recent polls suggest that over 50 percent of the parent population are worried that vaccines are unsafe for their chidlren So I believe these statistics fly in the face of other polls and people are not happy with the present vaccine schedule. I might also add that as the number of vaccines increase and the numbers of sick children increase, and the numbers of children with autism spectrum disorders increase-we are going to see an increase in the numbers of people not vaccinating themselves or their children. Nobody knows why there are 1 in every 70 young boys now with autism, but health officials tell us it's not vaccines. Remember the man behind the curtin in Oz?

A recent majority of the Supreme Court has denied parents their right to sue for damages caused by vaccines in Federal or State Courts .. because .. the Court felt it necessary to protect the vaccine industry from liability for producing and marketing vaccines the Court determined are "unavoidably unsafe.

I don't know how anyone could blame parents who are hesitant to vaccinate their children with "unavoidably unsafe" vaccines?

1500 people represent 250 million? Interesting. We should also remember that questions asked are always skewed to whatever the desired outcome is.

These are the links to upcoming federal studies on vaccine safety, including a link to autism in susceptible groups of children.

Pretending that celebrities are responsible for the growing fear that vaccines cause autism is simply not true. There is mounting science raising serious questions about vaccine safety and top experts are calling for more research. One is Dr. Bernadine Healy, former head of the National Institutes of Health. On CBS News in 2008 she said the science isn't in on vaccines and autism. She called for more studies.

Recently it was announced that the following agencies would be conducting research on vaccine side effects and susceptible groups of children.

National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC),

US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS),

Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC),

Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA),

Vaccine Injury Compensation Program (VICP),

Office of Immunization Safety (OSI), and

US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

The CDC is convening a panel to look at the feasibility

of a study of vaccinated and unvaccinated children to compare autism rates.

In truth the science isn't in and the question of a link is still open.

I trusted our pediatrician. He said it was normal to have seizures after vaccination. After 30 plus rounds of ant-biotics a flag still didn't go up. My child is now permanently brain damaged and has multiple health problems. No Doctor wants to help. All they can do is deny. If it hadn't happened to my family, I would still trust them.

Did anyone see the PBS news hour last night? Robert Macneil's autistic grandson is being treated by a Harvard doctor for “Ileal lymphoid hyperplasia". You know, the disease Andrew Wakefield discovered and described 13 years ago. The child is making great strides. Anyone have an extra $100,000.00 they can lend me and other families in the same boat? At least one mainstream doctor is doing his job.
