Great article. I loss my job executive level job in 2008 and although I was bitter, hurt and afraid in the aftermath, I have found happiness I would have never imagined I could back then. Today I'm exploring my life long dream as a freelance columnist, artist and I've brought my first book to the market (http://www.lifetimeartimpression.com). I was able to channel my pain and sorrow into what I call, Life Healing Art. I'm still working on the financial stability part but I'm much more fulfilled and I've found an inner peace that is amazing! For anyone who is suffering through job loss, be creative, consider it your ex-employer's loss and move yourself forward holding your chin high with faith. Let go of the dollars expectation and follow your heart and your instinct, believe a door will open (even if you have to shove it open by starting your career over with hard work) and it will!

Very interesting, and expected.

People can influence their level of Happiness but have a resting state that they come by genetically. This natural level of happiness, like the level of water in a barrel, rests at the same point after any period of agitation.
