I didn't read the actual study, but the article is pretty weak. Are non-drinkers more likely to be anxious and depressed, or are anxious and depressed people less likely to do things in moderation, like drinking? Depression is, in a sense, an excessively negative view of the world. Anxiety causes deeply polarized feelings. It's only logical that ... Read Moreother extreme views would follow.

Without taking into account causality, this study doesn't carry much weight. It's unfortunate that some people will probably read this article and change their behavior to suit, rather than investigate why they hold such crippling beliefs.
